October 2, 2010 - Bird Club Cuttyhunk Trip

Well we had an absolutely perfect day on Cuttyhunk! The following species were only some of what the group saw. Least Sandpiper, Greater Yellowlegs, Double crested Cormorant, Herring Gull, Laughing Gull, Ring Billed Gull, Black Backed Gull, Rock Dove , Mourning Dove, Tree Swallow, Song Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, Probable Lincolns Sparrow, Common Eider, White Winged Scoter, Surf Scoter,Broad winged Hawk, Red Tailed Hawk, Sharp Shinned Hawk, Coopers Hawk, American Kestrel, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon,Carolina Wren, House Wren, Yellow Rumped Warbler, Northern Parula, Redstart, Black Throated Green, Yellow, Prairie, Ruby crown Kinglet, Golden Crown Kinglet, Belted Kingfisher, Catbird, Mockingbird,Cedar Waxwing, Red Breasted Nuthatch, White Breasted Nuthatch, Great Blue Heron,American Goldfinch, House Finch, Purple Finch,White Throated Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Swamp Sparrow, Osprey, Northern Flicker, Downy Woodpecker, Yellow bellied Sapsucker, Red Eyed Vireo, Blue Headed Vireo, Phoebe, Pee Wee, Eastern Towhee (thousands) Dark eyed Junco,Black poll Warbler, Northern Harrier(nice Male) Palm Warbler, Probable Oriole, Chipping Sparrow, American Robin,Scarlet Tanager, Northern Cardinal, BlueBird, American Crow, Pied Billed Grebe, Brown Thrasher, Common Yellowthroat, House Sparrow, Very probable Sora(seen by only one observer) Starlings, Indigo Bunting, Yellow Billed Cuckoo, and I'm sure something I omitted. All in all a perfect day and Thank-you to our guest, Mary Keleher, Bob Stymeist, Mike Sylvia, and John Dailey, This is a trip that I would like to make an annual event.
